The reputation of members will accumulate over time as they are awarded positive points for their contribution on the forum, and the reputation is visible when you click to view a member profile.

You only get 10 points to award in a 24 hour period, so save your points for awarding thanks to other members or for an occasion where you're generally impressed by a particular post.

The software does allow the facility to 'neg' (-1) a post (which also affects the accumulated reputation for that member), but I've turned that off unless I have any objections as it can lead to a general feeling of negativity if people are getting 'negged' for simply offering a different opinion. Lets keep it all positive for now.

We can set different reputation levels. At the moment the defaults are:-

Neutral = 0-9
Good = 10-19
Excellent = 20+

Well done everyone that has helped with development! I'm especially pleased that we have over 14,000 games in the game database, and hopefully it'll continue to grow.

Hit-Reset is a community driven videgame site featuring an extensive gaming database (14,000+ games and growing) used by the members here to create and share their own personal gaming profile. You can create a list of the games you own, the games you are playing, and the games you are watching. We will alert you when games on your watch list are updated, and you can use the database to keep an eye on the latest gaming releases.

The articles posted here have been submitted by members of the community. Anyone can write and submit articles, with the idea that you can use the site as a platform for submitting your work. Articles you write are displayed on your public gaming profile, a portfolio of sorts.

Gaming Profile
Your personal gaming profile is the public hub of your activity on the site. Articles you have written; your game collection; games you’re playing and watching; are all shown here.

Game Alerts
Your ‘game alerts’ are show here. If you add a game to your ‘watch’ list, every time that game gets a database update (upload a cover image or screenshot album, or update the release date) you will receive a ‘game alert’. The number of unread alerts will show in the member bar.

Game Lists
This section of site allows you to view and manage the list of games you own, games you're playing, and games you're watching. Add games to your lists quickly and easily, and remove any that are no longer relevant.

Sign out of the site and forums

Forum Options

Forum Profile
This is a link to your public forum profile.

Forum Settings
View and edit your forum settings. Your site username, password and email address are all integrated with the forum software – so if you want to change any of these, you can do so here.

Notifications
You can set up and receive forum notifications when various forum content is updated that is relevant to you. The forum can notify you of new personal conversations, replies in threads that you subscribe to, replies where you’re quoted etc. The number of unread notifications will show in the member bar.

Personal Messages
Your personal messenger. Send messages to other members of the site. The number of unread messages will show in the member bar.

Friends
