Review and Scoring Policy

Obviously reviews are subjective and a numerical scoring system can be difficult to interpret, especially since so many sites right now are reluctant to score below a seven on a ten point scale, despite the fact that a five is mathematically average.

So, here’s our scoring system and a rough breakdown of what it means.

1/10 = Terrible, avoid playing.
2/10 = Extremely poor.
3/10 = Poor.
4/10 = Below average.
5/10 = Average, worth renting.
6/10 = Above average.
7/10 = Good.
8/10 = Very good.
9/10 = Excellent.
10/10 = A must buy for all platform owners.

As you can see, 10/10 does not mean “bestest game evar!!”, it simply means it is one of the very best available on the platform. An example of this would be Uncharted 2 which is, we believe, one of the best games the PS3 has to offer gamers. On the flipside, Rogue Warrior would be a 1/10.

We do stress however that the scores given by our reviewers are their personal opinion and should only go some way to helping you decide whether to play a game or not. We write a significant body of text for each review, breaking down our positive and negative experiences with the title, which should serve as a much better guide as to whether you would enjoy the game or not.
